6 places to visit in Winchester on your e-bike

Winchester is renowned as the gateway to the South Downs National Park and is a popular start and finish location for cyclists attempting the legendary South Downs Way challenge. It’s also a great place to visit for a weekend with plenty of places you can enjoy with the help of your e-bike. Here’s some of our favourites, including a few spots to enjoy some food and drink rewards if you finish at Winchester after riding the South Downs Way:

1. Winchester Cathedral

One of the largest in Europe, a cycle to visit Winchester Cathedral is definitely one not to miss.

2. Brunch at Josie

Arguably one of the best brunch spots in Winchester! Treat yourself to a stack of Biscoff pancakes - much needed fuel for a day of cycling.

3. The River Itchen

Flowing through Hampshire, the river is the perfect place to stop and rest with lots of ideal spots for a dip on a hot day.

4. Lunch at Shoal

Eat your fish and chips in style! Enjoy an old school reward after a day of cycling. Shoal - even offering vegan 'fish' and chips and their cherry sundae is a throwback special not to be missed!

5. The General Store

Full of fresh produce, freshly baked pastries and even a range of charcuterie and cheese boards - all locally sourced!

6. The Stable

Finish the day at The Stable for fresh, homemade pizzas and local craft beers.
